The Waterfront Museum’s barge is an all-wood covered structure 30′ x 90′ with 6 access doors and 4 skylights for natural light. See photos (right) of the space and shoots over the years.

Past clients include: “The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel”, Fisher Price, Chanel, Warner Brothers, Food Network’s “Throwdown with Bobby Flay” & “Worst Cooks”, “Up All Night,” The Company Store, singer Will Young, and more.

The barge can be towed by a tugboat into the NY Harbor for filming or transported to another dock. Past ports of call include: Hoboken, Brooklyn Bridge Park, Hudson River Park Piers 84 & 25, Riverdale, Piermont, Cold Spring, Poughkeepsie, Kingston, Hudson and Waterford, NY.

Live Performances

We’re a showboat! Live performances are at the core of who we are and the reason our captain David Sharps rescued the barge. Add your production to the long list of plays, circuses, operas, juggling acts, concerts, vaudevilles, performance art, and…whatevers that have moved audiences in NYC’s most unique venue. 

The barge has a standing room capacity of 149 from May to November and offers flexible seating for 100.  It’s handicap accessible and features theatre lighting and sound.

Venue Rental

The Waterfront Museum is an unforgettable venue for important life events or events in the life of your business. The barge has internet access, a digital projector, screen, and a versatile space for creative uses.

Ceremonies

The barge is a great space for retreats and meetings.  Clients can arrive by Water Taxi. Catering is available. Past clients include:  TIME OUT NEW YORK, The United Nations, The Consulate of the Netherlands, New York Community Trust Foundation, Big Apple Circus Clown Care and Occupy Wall Street.
