Rich Samuelson's Encaustic Paintings on display through October 2010. Rich enjoyed a long career as a painter, printmaker, sculptor, actor and composer. He moved to New York City from Wisconsin in the heyday of the downtown painter's lofts and fell head over heels in love with the city.
Samuelson's chosen medium is encaustic, an ancient process dating to the Egyptian empire of 4,000 years ago. He is seen as one of the forerunners of the current popularity of the medium.
