2010 Exhibition aboard the Waterfront Museum (April – October): “Tugboats & Waterfront Scenes” by Rich Samuelson

Exhibition:Coming soon : Railroad Model Diorama a NY Harbor display of HO Scale railroad navy models donated by Garry Pace is currently being designed by John Wright and David Sharps.

Performance: Quintet of the Americas
June 5 at 2pm Red Hook
Quintet of the Americas celebrates its 30th anniversary with new commissioned works inspired by the Hudson River and 400th anniversary of Henry Hudson’s sail. A woodwind quartet’s new commissioned work inspired by the Wildlife Conservation Society’s Manhatta Project whose goal it was to reconstructing the ecology of Manhattan from 1609. The quartet plans to connect the idea of nature and change and celebrate their 30th year with a unique presentation combining Live Performance, Sound Design, Film and Speech.

Documentary Film: “Zeb – Schooner-Life”
Date to be announced.
A serious documentary about Captain Zeb Tilton and his famed schooner the Alice S. Wentworth and why he became a legend and an American folk hero. Tales of whaling, the coastal trade, and the history of schooners. A NYC Premier. Previous sold out viewings in New Bedford, Nantucket, Vineyard Haven and others. Discussion and talk back with the producer and director following the show.

Narrative Film: “Spirit Ship” by “Little Ceatures Film.” View Trailer

Live action films told in children’s voices. Six NYC youth aged 4 – 10 years old discover mysterious objects along the shore. This fantasy narrative takes place against the backdrop of several historic/natural icons which have recently disappeared from the Red Hook neighborhood as a consequence of progress.
Discussions with the young actors cast and producer/director Kristin Eno following the show.

Waterfront Book Festival
June 26 Red Hook
The festival, coordinated by Graving Dock author Gabriel Cohen, will celebrate authors who have written about the waterfront and/or maritime-related topics. The event will feature readings, book sales and signings, fun food, and possibly live music or other attractions.

Tug & Barge Tour:
August 26 - September 1 at Brooklyn Bridge Park Pier 6
The Waterfront Museum teams up with the Tugboat Pegasus for free programs that will bring maritime education to the new park!
September 2 - 6 at Hudson River Park's Pier 84 (42nd St.)
Tug and Museum return to the Hudson (North River) to welcome tourists and residents aboard our historic vessels.

Year-round Red Hook OPEN BOAT TOURS:
Saturdays 1 – 5 pm and Thursdays 4 – 8 pm.

Coming Soon ... Exhibition: “The Bells of New York,” by Creative Time along the NYC High Line. Hundreds of bells including those of the Waterfront Museum will ring hourly along the newly opened paths of the High Line.
