Year-Round Open Hours

The Waterfront Museum is open year-round on THURSDAYS 4-8pm AND SATURDAYS 1-5pm for free tours when the barge is docked in Red Hook.

Free open hours at Hudson River Park Pier 25 will be Weekends May 5,6,& 13 from 1 - 5 pm and Thursday May 10 from 4 - 8 pm. Music by MELA Saturday May 5 at 1 & 3 pm. Captain David Sharps & Serious Foolishness perform May 5,6,& 13 at 2 & 4 pm.

Cross the gangway onto the 1914 historic vessel.  The Lehigh Valley Barge #79 is on the National Register of Historic Places--the only wooden barge of its kind still floating. 

A visit includes a look at the Captain's original living quarters, the tools used by longshoremen and stevedores and the gongs and bells of the tug and barge system. Videos tell the story of the barge's rescue from the mud and kids love the ball machine that whirls, jumps and plays music via gravity.
